Pandemic Response

Posted on: November 14th, 2020 by Edward Lamberton

Montgomery County officials have issued guidance on the Montgomery County Maryland Web site.

Present plans include, but not limited to the following:

  • Only the 10:30 am Service will be held this Sunday — there is not enough time between two services “for cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces between services.”
  • The Service will be held in the Sanctuary as is our custom and it will be Live-streamed on our YouTube Channel.
  • After going off the air, Holy Communion will be celebrated as usual with extra precautions taken.
  • Masks are encouraged.
  • Greeters will record names by family of those attending.
  • Offering plates on stands at entrance to sanctuary to receive offering, plates will not be passed.
  • We will not use hymnals, Bibles, or Fellowship Pads. Service Bulletins will be provided (B&W only) on a stand next to the Offering Plates.
  • Social Distancing in seating choices; going in and out; going to, at, and from communion.
  • Communion Hosts will be placed in hands only.
  • Bring your own hand sanitizer and wipes to clean your pew before and after service.
  • Sunday School will continue to be offered online as we have been doing recently.

It is okay not to come if you are health-compromised, have vulnerabilities to the virus, or you are just not comfortable at this time.

Please consider your neighbor and refrain from attending if you are sick or suspect you may have an active case of COVID-19.
